VersaShield®

VersaShield® is simply the better choice when it comes to moisture suppression — both in performance and value. Until now, most systems were liquid-based and required stringent climatic conditions, short open times, mixing, special tools and specific application requirements to meet claimed performance standards. They were difficult to work with and required extensive cleanup. Because VersaShield is never adhered to the slab, no cleanup of old adhesives is required when the space is renovated years later.

Non-Woven Fabrics

In 1978, GAF-Elk began production of fiberglass nonwovens in our Ennis, Texas facility. While Ultra-Mat® was originally developed specifically for the roofing industry, GAF-Elk has expanded its capabilities and capacity. Included are sales to other shingle manufacturers and development and sales of both fiberglass and polyester mat for a variety of non-roofing markets. In 1987, GAF-Elk formed the Nonwoven Materials Group to further expand and diversify GAF-Elk's market presence and product capability.

Today, GAF-Elk enjoys a solid presence and leadership position in the development and production of both polyester nonwoven products and wet-laid industrial fiberglass!
